i just got a new computer with windows xp. my old one was windows me.
i need to know how to transfer some pictures from my old computer to my
new one. i went and bought a usb cable and connected them together,
downloaded the software with it, but couldn't get any further than
pulling up all the information. i just cant get the computers to
connect. i've also heard you have to take the hard drive out of the
old computer and plug it into the new one, but i'm really nervous of
doing that. i just dont know where to go from here.

I used a thumbdrive to move a lot of pix from the old to the new.

Since I am really goog at spending other people's money, now is the time to
invest in an external storage device (hard drive). Pull all the data from
the ME machine and dump it into the Document folder on you new machine.
You can then setup XP to auto backup your system to the new external drive.
