Transfer background picture to another presentation in PPT97

J

John S. Ford, MD

I have a PPT97 presentation with a background picture I want to move to the
master background of another presentation. Can I do this without the
original jpg file (I can't seem to find it)?

Thanks in advance,
John

I can't remember if you can go to View | Slide Master and right-click and
Save As Picture in PPT 97 or not.

Pretty sure this works, though: create a new, blank slide and choose File |
Save As. In the Save As Type dropdown box, choose PNG (or JPG). Save that
slide and then use Insert | Picture to insert it into another file.

Thanks Echo.

Technique 1 doesn't work in PPT 97. Technique 2 does but the image seems to
have been significantly degraded by the transfer process. Any ideas how to
transfer it exactly without being degraded? The original image was a png
file which is supposed to not be lossy.

I assume you tried saving as PNG also, then?

You might try RnR Image Export. There's a demo version available.
