Hi,
As in header I have just set up windows 7 as a "clean" install and want to
transfer my mail from the vista windows mail to 7 but am really confused :(
I forgot that it was such fun doing new installs !!
Can some kind soul point me to the correct procedure to transfer my mail, I
have tried looking but am nearly blind reading up only to find dead ends :(
Thanks.
Stuart.

Win7 does not include Windows Mail or any other default Mail Client: You'll
have to install one. Tell us which one you want to install (or have
installed) and we'll see if we can assist you.

That being said, did you Upgrade your Vista computer to Win7 or did you
format your hard-drive and then do a clean install of Win7? If the latter,
did you back-up your personal data, including your Windows Mail data?

You will need to give us more details.
Such as, where are your Windows Mail emails, on a different PC?
Is the Vista computer still operational?

Hi and thanks for the replies and sorry for not being a little clearer about
my situation.
Well after a longer than anticipated time I have it sorted :)
My original Vista windows mail was on an older hdd which was getting too
full!
I wanted to add a second larger hdd and thought it may as well be windows 7
and I wanted to install the windows 7 as a "clean" install rather than an
upgrade which would probably have been easier?
I did use an external hdd to store the files on and then move them
laboriously over to the new 7 system which is using windows live mail. My
first impressions were not good and it has some things which need checking
out but it is not so bad now.
I found this was not simple though and feel ms could have made it easier. I
have not found their "easy transfer" quite so useful!
Still, I now have a dual boot facility and will be interested to see how
windows 7 functions over time.
Thanks for your offers to help here, Its good to have you around :)
Stuart.

You're very welcome.
I also dual-boot between Windows 7 and Vista. I only go into Vista
when I need to check on some issue that is peculiar to Vista.
