traditional chinese language keyboard

Hi,

I've got Windows XP Home Edition as my OS. My wife has an
old laptop which she is giving away (Windows 95) and we
are trying to figure out away for her to share my
computer. Only problem is that she likes to type
traditional Chinese characters.

If I understand correctly, the Chinese character fonts
come pre-installed in XP - so we can already visit
Chinese web pages and read them. But how to type in
traditional Chinese? Seems like there must be a way -
maybe several.

Her old computer used a program called "MultiWord"
Version 2.2 made by a company in Taiwan. Perhaps there
are other ways to do this?

Thanks,
Jordan

Hi,

Have you added Chinese language support yet? Control Panel/Regional and
language options/languages tab, click details and go to the settings tab.

Yes, I added Chinese language support. My wife chose the
Chinese (Traditional) Phonetic keyboard. It seems that we
can open the keyboard (i.e. a little box appears with
Chinese characters in it, and sometimes a full keyboard
layout - in miniature - appears. She can form the
characters inside the little boxes, however, she can't
transfer the characters into the main text screen of
whatever program that is open (i.e. Outlook Express,
Word, etc.)...Would sure like more explicit instructions
on how to use the Chinese keyboard.

Hi Jordan,

I can't give you more expilicit instructions than that, as I am unfamiliar
with the language. However, she should be able to use the input from the
language bar that is running next to the system tray.
