There is a setting on the Security tab of Tools | Options: "Make hidden
markup visible when opening or saving." If you're just turning Track Changes
off and not accepting the changes, then they are still present in the
document, and Word is making sure you realize that so you will not embarrass
yourself by sending out a doc with tracked changes in it.

I open document, turn track changes off, accept all
changes, save document, but when i reopen, track changes
is turned on again. I'm working in Word 2002 and under
Tools, Options, Security, the only option I have is Warn
before printing, saving or sending a file that contains
tracked changes or comments. ANY OTHER SUGGESTION?
Thanks in advance :)
