track changes with multiple editors in word 2007

Linda

I have a document that will be edited by multiple reviewers. How do I get it
so that each reviewer's edits show up in different colors? I have saved the
doc under a new name, but when I make additional edits, it won't let me do
them in another color. If I go to Options in Track Changes and change the
editing colors, it changes the colors of all past edits as well as all new
ones.
Thanks.

In the options, choose "By Author" as the color for each type of
change.

To make edits by yourself appear in different colors, you must change
your user name (go to Office button > Word Options > Popular and
change the user name, maybe by adding a number at the end). Then Word
will consider the next batch of changes will be made by a "different"
user.
