Track Changes in W 2003 seems not to work

Word 2003's Track Changes feature is fine on my system. My colleague has all
Track Changes options the same as mine, but hers will not work. She selects
default colours etc. for changes, chooses "never" for balloons. When she
turns on Track Changes, she gets the 'change line' on the left margin, but
the underlining and colour of her changes do not appear.
We cannot find any differences in the settings of our Word programs on our
computers - everything is mostly at default levels.

Please help - we have been around and around the Word help file and online
centre.

In the Reviewing Toolbar, there's a dropdown menu including "Final,"
"Final with Markup," "Original," and "Original with Markup." Be sure
you've chosen one of the "with Markup"s. Next to it is a "Show"
dropdown, where you check off things like Comments and Insertions/
Deletions and you can pick which reviewers' corrections you want to
see. Check that all of those are correctly set. (I recently discovered
that if you choose to view the changes of only one of two reviewers,
the text you see shows the other reviewer's changes alongside the
originals, at least sometimes, so it's not great.)
