Track changes - email a dcoument so the changes do not appear?

Hi,

Windows 2007 on Vista Home Premium.

How do you save a document (save as 97 -2003 document) so that when you
email it, the track changes are not visible to the receiver of the document.

I have tried, in this order

Track Changes on
Accept all changes
Track changes off

Save as 97-2003 document

Sadly to no avail. I am clearly missing something simple.

Help much appreciated

If you don't want the recipient to see the tracked changes, send them
a version of the document with all the changes accepted.

Word automatically shows the tracked changes when it opens a document
to remind you not to accidentally send them to someone who isn't
supposed to see them.
