tracert and ping question

Hello,

I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server that has multiple IP addresses
assigned to it. I would like to do a ping and tracert from one of the
non-primary IP's to a target address. Is there a way to accomplish this? The
IP's are configured so that they go into different networks, so right now
when I do a ping or tracert to an IP not connected to the main IP I get
failures. Does anyone have any ideas or know of other software that can do
this?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have the multiple gateways as well? Good gateway should inform you
about ICMP redirection. Unfortunately, not every gateway can redirect the
traffic or perform BG or proxy ARP role, so the adding route entries can be
the only option.

Actually no, there are not multiple gateways. I have a single router that is
doing policy based routing. The server is running an application that can
handle multiple IP's, and having a single server is a key requirement for
this situation. Is there more information that I can provide that may help
here?
