TouchPad does not stay disabled

Why do I have to continually go to status bar and click on pointing
divices and disable the touch pad. For the time being I do not use it
as I use a mouse and the standard keyboard. Needless to say if my
thumb touches the touchpad, havoc reaks wild.

This is probably more a hardware issue that is particular to the MFR
of your computer.

You should take your question to a group that is more appropriate to
such a discussion.

Uncle Grumpy .... I have some additional information that you might consider
in relation to your answer on this question ....
I have a Toshiba Tecra A3 laptop. It had a terminal illness & the fat table
was corrupted. My pc man set it up with Windows XP (I think he said it was
Pro) I then could not find where I could disable my touchpad. I had it
disabled when my laptop was running under Windows ME.

Pleeease, I now ask you if either you, or others, could please come up with
a 'fix' for this anomaly ..... as it's driving me crazy - as it's like having
2 people driving the same m'vehicle simultaneously!!

Thanks in hopeful anticipation ....
