Toshiba Satellite 2800 upgrade to XP External monitor problem

Hi,

My toshiba Satellite 2800-400 used to run perfectly well
on Windows 2000. I've just upgraded it to Windows XP
Professional.

Earlier connecting my laptop's TV out to the television
and changing to the Dual controller option in Display
used to let me use the TV as an external monitor to watch
DVD's. Now I'm not able to. Everything else works fine

Thought it might be a problem with Toshiba utilities but
I find versions for Satellite 2800 with only ME/2000 and
not XP. Can I use the same utilities file for ME for XP?
I'm not even sure if this will help my problem... Or can
anyone else advise what I can do to get my external
monitor feature working?

NO! ME utilities may/may not work with XP.

You may have to find an enhanced XP video driver for your laptop. However,
since you can only find version of ME/2000, your laptop may not support XP.

Update your video drivers to XP. Since the Toshiba worked well with
Win2000, there's no reason to believe it won't well with XP. It
should.
