Toshiba laptop:mouse problem after upgrade Xp Home>prof

I've done a upgrade on a Toshiba laptop. After installation the ps/2
mouse gave a lot of problems: By moving it it opens and closes all
kind of programs and also start. Done a complete new install and again
the upgrade, during installation where you have to fill in some
options, already the same problem.
When I take out the ps/2 mouse, the touchpad on the laptop functions
normally.

1. Anyone familiar with this problem. And solution.
2> Possible to install XP Prof alone instead of home and then upgrade.
I have the full version.

Solved the problem.

XP professional has erased the touchpad driver. Reinstalled this, and
the computer knows now there is a touchpad and a ps2/mouse.
