I have a toshiba portege 7020ct with both service packs
installed and the most up to date BIOS on it. My display
is still small in the screen. It has about a one inch gap
around it. I have tried all the 2000 drivers and none
worked. Is there anything else I can do?

Do you mean 1024x768? That is not really true. It all depends on the
laptop and the size of the screen (especially if it is a wide screen).

I am going to assume you are running Windows 2000 since you say "I have
tried all the 2000 drivers and none worked." Have you tried the drivers
that originally came with your computer? What video card is in the
laptop? Try the drivers from www.omegadrivers.net . They are designed
to work with the Radeon Mobility and GeForce Go series video cards for
laptops. If you don't have either of those two, then forget that thought :)

You may want to find out what the maximum resolution of your screen is
and set it to that as it is going to be the native resolution. Also,
check and see what the highest refresh rate is as that will give you the
best image (60 Hz should work too). Finally, if the icons and letters
are just too small for you, try something more like 1024x768 or even
800x600.

A typing error.. oh well..

The Toshiba is fitted with a 13.3" Active Matrix Color 1024x768 LCD..
laptops from this era all used displays from common manufacturers, and my
experience as a computer service engineer at the time these were around
tells me that it would definitely work properly at its highest resolution..

Very good point. I was just teasing about the typo by the way.

Today we have much higher resolutions and much larger displays on
laptops then they did on those. My old Dell Inspiron 7000 had a huge
display (for its time). That was 1280x1024, but I have to admit that
looking at much older laptops (such as this one), most of them do not
have the higher resolutions available today ;)
