TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6372

I have a TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6372 and device manager says Windows
successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the
hardware device. (Code 41) I have tried to disconnect and reconnect the
TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6372 but still it is not recognized in my computer can
anyone offer assistance with this problem please?

Did you install the manufacturers driver for this device? Windows 2000
doesn't know what a DVD is, only CD.

I have windows XP service pack 2.
Device manager says Windows
Can anyone offer advice for the situation having windows XP service pack
2 please??

Has this unit worked previously? If yes, perhaps the unit has failed.
