For a couple of months there have been some very willing helpers
and a steady 3 > 6 seeds for the PL2006 torrent.
Thanks guys! You know you do good work :0

Today for about 12 hrs, badger across the room seems to be the
only seed. If you can help for a while or until some of the
regulars get back please help the seeding effort.

There have been 3 downloaders this morning and often 5 or 6
on a normal weekend later in the day.

Thanks in advance,

Ash

I hate "me too" posts, but me too. I had µTorrent off because I
needed the CPU bandwidth for something, but it's back on now, seeding
only the PL2006 iso..

The ISO file (637 MB) may be downloaded via bit torrent. The procedure
is simple. Partial downloads can be stopped and resumed. We are using a
trackerless (DHT) torrent to distribute the file. This type of torrent
file is not recognized by all bit torrent clients. The procedure for
downloading the PL2006 ISO file using µTorrent (recommended):

Too bad that this torrent isn't designed properly such that ALL clients
could use it. Many of us that would like to help out use standard open
source products. These open source clients ARE compatible with every
standard torrent out there.

I would suggest that the PWH site and ACF members encourage open source
and maybe even switch their torrent over such that you don't have to
rely on one person's software.
What happens if the author decides to go payware?
I know that the author of µTorrent is working on a version to be more
compatible but that still leaves the issue that will not resolve itself
until a standard torrent is used.

I have been serving all my business clients updates via standard
torrents for years with no grief. They can use ANY client they want and
, yes, some even use µTorrent. Just a suggestion.

If a standard torrent was used, I would even consider getting some of
our 1500+ clients to help in the PL CD distribution :o)

Thanks ;) No problem, everybody needs to come and go as they wish!

I only raised the alarm after I saw no one else during about 12 hrs.

You seem to be prejudiced against trackerless torrents. I think they're
great. :)

That's an inaccurate statement.

µTorrent's DHT implementation is the same as Mainline and BitComet's,
but unfortunately this is incompatible with Azureus's implementation.

You're coming rather late to the party. The rush was over quite a while
ago. IMO the torrent distribution was (and continues to be) a great success.
