Top margin not displayed

recently when I open a new document in Word with View Print Layout, the top
margin does not show.

I need to View and then close Header and Footer before the top margin is
visible. How do I fix this?

You have toggled off the White Space. You can turn it back on in one
of two ways. First way is to take your mouse to the top edge of your
document, just below your ruler and click. It will display the top
margin and your header again. (This can also be done on the black bar
in-between pages.)

The other method is to open your Tools menu, Select Options, on the
View tab place a check mark in "White Space between pages (Print View
only)
