Tools Menu Mail Merge growing list

I use Word 2000 to do about 250 labels once a quarter "importing" the
names/addresses from my Excel address data base each time. That's ok . I
have no trouble doing that and printing the labels. The process I go through
is to click on "Tools" then select "Mail Merge" from the drop down menu and
go through the steps necessary. The labels print out ok and all is well.
This is what I have been doing, rightly or wrongly, for quite some time -
years.

But I have this strange phenomena, an increasing lengthy drop down menu.
When I click on "Tools" a long drop down menu appears with dozens of "Mail
Merge" on it. The number seems to be growing.

I don't know for sure but it seems like each time I do a "Mail Merge"
another line "Mail Merge" is added.

I therefore have two questions?

A) How do I get rid of this great long list of "mail merge"? This is my main
wish.

B) I guess I have been creating a new "Mail Merge" job each time I do it.
If so, where is it saved? (so I can use it again next time instead of
creating another)

Looking forward to your advise/suggestions. Thanks in anticipation.
