Mail Merge: Create page of same labels

B

BK

I am trying to use the mail merge to create a page of the same labels for
each of the records in the data file. Anyone have any good ideas other than
having the record appear multiple times in the source file? It looks like you
can do this on the labels mail merge but it doesn't have my label and I'd
have to do it for each record .. too much data entry. There has got to be a
more automated way to do this. THANKS!

After propagating the labels in the mail merge main document, remove the
«Next Record» field from all but one of the labels.

Hi Suzanne;

This only works for me here (in 2007) if I delete *all* NR fields from the
label document. Otherwise the next record takes over wherever the NR field
appears...

Any thoughts?

Yes, this is very confusing. Somehow a label merge mysteriously knows to use
the next record for the first label on each sheet (even without the NR
field), so I suppose deleting the field from all the rest of the labels is
what would be required. I didn't have time to test this, but I figured the
OP would get there in the end if pointed in the right direction!

It does that because it is like every other type of mail merge main
document in having an implicit NR field at the beginning of the document
(well, that's one way to think about what mailmerge actually does),
and starting with "record 0" (i.e. the first thing that happens in the
merge is that you move to record 1).
