ToolBox Icon corruption VB2005

If I reset the ToolBox, all the ToolBox Icons are correct.
Over time, though, and starting from the top, the icons change to a particular icon, usually the
icon for a combobox. The rate of change is sporadic. Some days, there is no change while all of a
sudden, two or three more will change to the combobox icon. Now today, several more have changed
and all those that were and have changed now have all changed to the picture box icon.

In doing some searching, I found a couple of reports of the same issuse in a bug report forum.
But MS said that they could not duplicate the problem.

Has anyone else observed this behavior and found a solution?

Me too :)

Don't know the cause. After a reinstall on another drive (different
from c: ) the problems seems gone.
I reinstalled because more and more frequently, on a very large project
(thousands files), the compiler would crash every few minutes (on some
background task). Also icons were almost all corrupted.

From what I heard the compiler errors are fixed in service pack 1 coming out
later in the fall

SP1 for VS2003 which went to beta back in April, has a seeminly firm release date now of Aug 15.

Unless someone knows differently, I don't believe that SP1 for VS2005 has yet gone to beta, so it
would seem to me that even a Q4 release estimate would be a stretch.

From what I've heard talking to MS people in the VS team they have had 2005
SP1 in beta internally for a while now and is near complete, they already
completed .NET 2.0 Compact framework SP1, and are now finishing up 2005 SP1
and .NET 2.0 SP1 from what they've said, which is a huge patch apparently,
over 600MB (including 2.0 framework sp1) in size... and we thought Windows
XP SP2 was big at 200MB...

Hope it will be released soon. While the 2005 is a huge improvement
there
are so many issue with the gui, especially with large projects, that
sometime
I almost miss the 2003. Anyway it's understandable, as I imagine they
are
making an immense effort. I really think that in a while the difference
with other development platform will be unfillable.

600MB? -- Now I understand why some folks are calling it VS2007.
