ToolBox Icons are not showing VS 2005

Hi All,
I'm using VS 2005 8.0.50727.42 (RTM.050727-4200), with .NET framework
2.0. Everything was working fine, but now suddenly I don't see my ToolBox
icons, whether you are in design mode or not, it's the same. Doing reset
toolbox comes with all the icons, but they are all disabled except HTML
controls. If you select "Choose Toolbox Items" then ".NET framework
components" property tab comes with this error message - "An error occurred
loading this property page".

I already tried to re-install (.NET 2.0) and reboot but nothing changed.
Then I un-installed and re-install (.NET 2.0) but still same result.

Please help.

Hi,

you need not re-install VS 2005. Just go to view menu and click on Toolbox.
your toolbox will appear.

I've also had weird problems with the ToolBox icons in VB2005 Express:
the icons all change to become the same one! Two weeks ago all the
controls in the toolbox used the GroupBox icon. Last week all the items
in the toolbox used the LinkLabel icon. Today, they're using one that
I'm not even sure what it is (a document on a green background).

Anyone else experience that? I can work fine without the correct icons,
but it's still mildly annoying.

Try right-clicking in your toolbox, then select Reset Toolbox.

Thanks, for your reply. I already tried that option too. Resetting toolbox
leave with only HTML controls, which can be used on the page. Also mine is
VS 2005 Team Edition.

One more thing -

I can add the control by directly typing on the page, it shows all the
properties etc. But then if I go back to design mode then I can't see the
properties for the control.

Looks like the only option I'm having is to re-install VS2005 again.

VS2005 sucks. Its a bad bad release from MS.

Thanks,
Suhaib
