I used to use SNURL from http://www.snurl.com to make create short
links out of long ones. It's like the competitive "makeashorterlink"
website.

SNURL has a particularly nice feature whereby if you drag a link from
thei rwebpage to your toolbar and then viewed another web page, you
could click the toolbar link and it would generate a short link and
show it in a popup window.

However the popup window does not seem to appear to work any more for
me.

Maybe it is my change from Opera6 to Opera7 or maybe it is something
which has changed on my WinXP Pro.

Has anyone got any ideas about how to get this SNURL popup to work?

Does it work for others with XP Pro and Opera7?

Sorry, I've never even heard of SNURL. I use
makashorterlink.com and there is also tinyurl.com. I enhance
access to MASL by having a Bookmark with a nickname entry
("masl") and SHFT+F2, masl. The SNURL "quick access" appears to
use JavaScript.

I too have used those other "short-link" websites but I prefer
SNURL's quick access popup windows as ISTR that it even copies the
short URL onto the clipboard.

I hope someone who knows about Javascript and Opera7 can advise.

Thank you.

POSTSCRIPT...
BTW your cross-server posting Newsgroups:
opera.general,microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
is a bad idea and will frustrate some users when they attempt to
Reply. Cross-posting between Groups on any given Server is fine
though.

In fact, I am posting to the Usenet proper.

It is perhaps an unfortunate co-incidence that both Opera and
Microsoft take a feed from the Usenet for each of the two groups I
have posted to!

However "opera.general" and "microsoft.public.windowsxp.general" are
not private groups on private newsservers even if some users might
read and post only to those private servers as I believ they do.

For those users please accept my aplogies if my cross-posting makes
it frustrating.
