How do I permanently configure what toolbars appear when I open a new
presentation? At the moment, all of the toolbars that appear by default are
not the ones I want; one appears vertically and I only want horizontally
positioned ones.

How do I permanently configure what toolbars appear when I open a new
presentation? At the moment, all of the toolbars that appear by default are
not the ones I want; one appears vertically and I only want horizontally
positioned ones.

You can drag toolbars here and there and dock them at the top, sides or bottom.
Docking a toolbar at top/bottom will make it horizontal

You can turn toolbars off/on using View, Toolbars -- put checks next to the
ones you want; clear the checks from the ones you don't want.

But if you want PPT to make toolbars available because a particular document
has been opened and not otherwise, you can't. PowerPoint isn't like Word in
this respect. And in many other respects, come to think of it. ;-)
