Tool bar customizing won't "stick"

Any "customizing" I make on the standard tool bar will work during the session but are lost when I exit
Using OL2000 fully updated
Doesn't happen on any other PC in office
What could be the problem
One suggestion was to delete the Outcmd.dat file with OL closed
I did this but the same thing happens
Any other suggestions
 
is outlook closing completely when you close it? Check Task Manager for
outlook.exe 5 minutes after you close outlook.
