Too many user

Hi,

I have an Access97 FE and BE database on an Win NT 4.0 OS
using a Novell Netware (client 4.90). The FE is on my
users PC and the BE is on the Server. The problem that I'm
trying to understand is that if I have two or more
instance of my FE database open on one PC it seems to
multiply the user's entry each time one of the FE is
trying to access the BE.

I saw my users multiply itself using the LDBView.exe that
is provided with the Msldbusr.EXE finded in a Microsoft
link.

The real problem with the fact my user is multiplying his
entries is that it reach at a rapid rate my maximum of 255
users and cannot permit other access to the BE.

I try to figure out with the network guys what as change,
because before a certain day if they were more than one
instance of the FE open on the same PC, I saw only one
entry for each instance of the FE.

Now with the same condition a same user may multiply is
entries. Another user can overwrite those entries if they
are not used but now by the moment one entry is use all
the others of the same users are locked forcing other
users to add to the list of entries.

The only way to clear those entries was to close all FE on
the user's PC that caused the problem.

Any suggestions should help.

Thanks.

Why are they opening more than one FE? It would seem that maybe there
is a design flaw that they are trying to overcome, or they need a little
training.

Hi Joseph,

The reason there are multiple FE is that each FE was
created by a different programmer for a different purpose.
Your right to say that if I cannot do otherwise I'll do my
best to integrate the two FE but I guess you know how it
is when you work on databases that weren't created by you,
imagine by two.

As for educating the users they are well aware right now
not to used the two FE at the same time.

Thanks.

If 26 + 6 = 1 It's Irish Math
what is 2 ?
37 + 7 = 2 ?
