too many recipients

hello newsgroup

I am using Outlook 2002 on XP.

For a newsletter I have about 40 registred recipients. My
problem is that after having send the letter I recieve a
mail containing:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended
recipients.

Subject: [Deleted]
Sent: 09.05.2004 22:09

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

(e-mail address removed) on 09.05.2004 22:09
xxx.xx.xx Too many recipients

Can I change setting to avoid this failure?

Thank You

Try putting the names in the BCC field and address the item to yourself.
Hopefully this won't trigger anyone's spam guards.

I could be wrong but I believe this is a setting at the
recipients end, to try and avoid spam.

Can you not use districution lists?
Or put in entires in the BCC field?

Let us know!

the adresses were in the bcc field but I used a seperate
contact folder. I try the distribution list. Thanks for
the tip.

If this didn't work, talk with your ISP first and make sure that they are
not tagging the internet header with all of the recipient names. (If
putting names in the bcc field and the isp tags the message with every name,
then IMHO it is a breach of privacy.)

Despite what Neo says, the problem is most likely your ISP which won't allow
you to include so many recipients on a single message. You can try
WordMail's mail merge to send your message out to everyone automatically,
but with a single recipient per message.
