too many programs in start up file

Norton Anitvirus' scan says that I have too many programs (26) loading at start up and one or more may be interfering with critical Norton start up files/programs. Does any one know of a list of standard WXP files that must be in the startup file

I have he same problem. I can Hardly open any programs at all. MSCONFIg is one of those. I cannot open Nrton Anti-Virus or Ace Utilities. Symanec said i had 28 programs running. Can anyone Help me?
