My computer is running really bad. When I have Windows Media Player running
and try to do ANYTHING else it distorts the sound. Also my computer sound
all cracked and distorted when I first start it and Windows loads. When I
check my processes on my work computer there are only like 3 or 4, but on my
computer at home there is 20 or more. Can anyone tell me which ones I can
end??? Or any other suggestions??

1st open device mgr, expand the sounds to the
hardware,R.click,select,uninstall,
do not restart computer,do same for other devices listed for same hardware,
once thru, close out, shutdown computer. If you have an add-in PCI sound card,
move the card to another PCI slot, restart computer,xp will reinstall on
start-up.
As far as processes go,write them down, open search in my computer, search
for the .exe find out what its related to.Usually turning off 1-3 services
you'd
be lucky to achieve. However if you must,go
to:http://www.intel.com/cd/ids/developer/asmo-na/eng/189869.htm

My computer has 42 proccesses running at this point in time. To stop
proccesses, go to Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), click the proccesses tab, then
right-click a process and click End Process. You can sometimes tell what the
process is from its name.
