Process DLLHOST.EXE

I have just reinstalled my computer with the manufactuers
original disks and downloaded all the updates needed for
Windows XP Home Edition and Windows Media Player. When
listening to the radio over the internet in Windows Media
Player or RealPlayer the sound becomes very distorted.
Sometimes the music will being to play fine and then
suddenly become distorted.

The problem seems to be with the DLLHOST.EXE process
which at times hogs up to 99% of the CPU. When I kill
this process the music becomes normal again.

Is there a cure for this?
