Too many events to fire from...

Whenever I attempt to import Movie Clips (.mpg) files I receive a message
box telling me that the file could not be imported because there are too
many events to fire from. Could anyone explain this and provide a solution?

I am using Windows Movie Maker Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090804-1435 : Service Pack 3) c2007 Ms Corp.

Movie Maker has compatibility issues with .mpg
files.

Might be worth a try to convert the .mpg files to the
..wmv format before importing into Movie Maker.

The following freeware can do the conversion:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...when installing...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your .mpg video clips onto the main
screen...

Select 'All to WMV' / OK...

Click...Start...on the toolbar...
