too many boots

i have to boot my computer 3 times to conect to internet,
then it will go off line 2 or 3 times in 8 hrs, then i
reboot 2 or 3 time to get back on, what could be my
problem, my cable co says i have a very strong signal,

e.g. PC directly connected to a cable modem using USB ..etc)
