Too fast greeting"You've got mail."

My husband downloaded the update for Windows XP and the
greeting when you get mail, on AOL is very fast.Like it's
going at 78rpm's.
How can we fix that?
 
It seems that AOL is the problem. It's that stupid movie,
"You've Got Mail" who wants a computer to tell you that the
mail you can SEE is there.
