Not Really Me

How do I make a TOC that does not have hyperlinks? I am using word2000.

Insert | Reference | Index and Tables | Table of Contents | uncheck the
"Use hyperlinks instead of page numbers" box.

Or if you have already created the TOC and don't want to recreate it,
you can press Alt+F9 to toggle Field Code Display on, and then delete
the \h switch from each TOC field.

Just for clarity, I'd like to point out that Word 2000 doesn't support
removing hyperlinks from the Index and Tables dialog box; you have to
modify the field code directly.

I knew that Word 2000 didn't support it from the dialog box. I tried what
you suggested though and it didn't work.

The field code now shows { TOC \o "2-3" \z \t "Heading 1,1" }. When I
toggle the field codes off I still have hyperlinks. Any other ideas?

Did you hit F9 to update the TOC? Changes take effect after updating.
