To place images exact...?

I have difficulties placing images exactly in PPT. The images has the same
size in pixels and I use the format images to set their place (in cm), but
still the images does not always align total to each other and the edge of
the background. It is quite frustrating.

I am working without placeholders. How can I control my design exact?

Which version of PowerPoint do you use? Do the images also have the same
resolution in dpi? View the slide at 100 % Zoom, smaller or larger Zoom
settings sometimes show gaps which do not exist becaus of the video card,

Best regards,
Ute

Just as an aside did you know there are buttons for aligning things - either
with each other or relative to slide. They can be found in tools->
customise-> commands-> drawing -> just drag the ones you want onto the
drawing toolbar. I use them all the time and they save me a *huge* amount of
time compared to going into the proerties and setting position there.

If I haven't made myself clear please post back and I'll try harder :)

Hi Ute - Thanks for your reply!

Fine to know about the zoom - but then what about when the PPT is being view
full screen on different screens? How does the dpi matter?

I am using PPT 2003.

Though dpi should not be important for screen display, PowerPoint imports
images with same pixel size but different dpi in different sizes. Have a
look at this website: http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00075.htm

The resolution of the screen does not matter. If you adjust your pictures to
the slide size, PowerPoint adjusts them to the screen size automatically.

Try sizing the images in photoshop or wherever at 102.4 ppi, then saving and
inserting into PPT. Don't know for sure if that will keep them exact, but it
won't hurt to try.
