To ping or not to be ping - Network problem

L

Lewis

Hi All,

we have a Kontron ETX P3T with Ethernet Adapter "Intel(R)
PRO/100 VE Network Connection" and "Intel(R) GD82559ER PCI
Adapter".

Both adapters are installed properly.

The big problem is:

I can ping a PC from the XPe machine, but the XPe machine
cannot be seen from the network.

Firewall is not included (unchecked in Core Networking)
The macro "TCP/IP Networking with Client For MS
Networks" is included
File and printer sharing included
Changing the registry key "Start" in "SharedAccess" as
seen in a former thread takes no effect

Thanks in advance

Lewis

Lewis,

I doubt your have turned off the firewall but clearing that checkbox in Core Networking component. It will just not bring in the
high level firewall GUI and etc.
But you may still want to disable the firewall with registry settings (or appropriate setting in the netfw.inf):
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile],"EnableFirewall"=dword:0
