To Enable or Disable Write-Caching for a Storage Device in Windows 7?

N

none

My WD SATA 6 HD has several UNSAFE SHUT DOWN COUNTs.

Should one enable or disable it? I know there is a performance boost
in having it enabled, but is it noticable? I have an i7 930 CPU.

If you were sure that your PC would never be shut down abnormally...

It's probably an internal count in Windows.

Something like it, I suspect. The point is that the HDD buffer
is quite unlikely to be responsible. More like the OS buffer
and if that gets disabled, things will get dog-slow.
