Title Page (inserted as 'new' front page)

I have a 50 page document that I need to put a face sheet on, or title page. Every time I make my title page, and cut n paste my document starting on page 2...all the formatting and fonts change throughout my document. If I try another approach by moving everything down one page, leaving the original first page as a blank....then the page formatting on the document changes. I can't seem to do this, even though it should be so simple! Any ideas?

You should insert a page break at the beginning of the doc. Is the problem
then that the page numbering changes? If so, see the second link below.

Thank You!!! It worked!! You wouldn't believe how many people I've asked...and nobody seems to ever know! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I have added that link to my favourites....just in case I 'forget' how to do it

Glad to help. Browsing the general mvps.org/word site and the
shaunakelly.com/word site will also teach lots of useful tricks,
particularly Shauna's. Another tip is also to use Google Groups to search
the Word ngs for answers.
