Time Sync error:

I have 4 like machines and only two exhibit this problem.

On a Windows XP professional machine set to syncronize with a UNIX NTP host,
I receive the following error in the event log. I have set it using the net
time /setsntp and by modifying the registery according to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/314054

I can run "w32tm /monitor /computers:1.1.1.1" and it can succesfully set the
NTP time from the host, and it is staying syncronized.

Why am I getting this error and how do I make it go away?

The time service has not been able to synchronize the system time for 96
seconds because none of the time providers has been able to provide a usable
time stamp. The system clock is unsynchronized.

*** W32TM MONITOR OUTPUT *** (ip is changed, but is a local time server).

ICMP: error IP_REQ_TIMED_OUT - no response in 1000ms
NTP: -0.1358128s offset from local clock
RefID: time-nw.nist.gov [131.107.1.10]

Thank goodness you masked your private IP addresses, or I'd immediately have
been able to steal your identity, ruin your credit rating, and all that fun
stuff. ;-)
