time speeding up

Hello,

Lately I'm having a kinda weird problem, the animated
graphics and the time are speeding up, starts with the
blue moving graphic on Windows loading screen (before
login), it moves very fast and backwards, I can't see the
cursor as it blinks too fast and the clock is speeding
to a rate of one minute every 2 seconds!
I ran two antivirus and
uninstall everything that was not absolutely necessary,
cleaned up the registry too. If I carry on using the PC
or restart, things go back to normal. Any ideas of what
could it be and how to fix it? As far as I'm concerned no
new hardware or software was installed the day before it
started (last wednesday 8/Oct)
OS Windows XP Pro SP1 2600
1400 megahertz AMD Athlon XP 512Mb

did you check in the bios to see if it is overclocked for the operation?
