Time Out on Installation

I am trying to upgrade from Windows ME to XP Home Edition
Upgrade. When I start the install process, around the
time I have to input the Product Key, the install program
times out and sends me back to the initial screen. Any
ideas?

I never get a chance to finish putting in the product code
when it kicks me back.

This could be caused by a virus named Klez. Try this removal tool to check for it
If you click on start/run, type in msconfig and go to the startup tab. Look for an entry with the words wink followed by a random number. If it exists, go and ge the following removal tool
