thumbs.db

I'm having problems trying to burn pictures to a CD. So what I do is send the pictures to the CD drive, when I do this a pop up comes up telling me that file thumbs.db can either be copied as well or I could skip it. Then after that it will put them on the drive and let me click on it and say ready to burn. After a minute the burner will just pop the CD out with no files burnt on it. Regardless if I choose to skip the thumbs.db to be copied or if I copy it to the file the same thing happens. I've wasted so many CDs already.

you can delete the thumbs.db.before copying your pictures. It is created and
used by windows to generate thumbnails more quickly in Windows Explorer.

Check if your CD drive is set for recording.
Open My Computer, right click on the listed CD drive.
Click on Properties. Click on the Recording tab. Check the box enable
recording.

What else do you have on your computer to copy to CD? Do you use something
like Roxio to copy music. If so, it may be interfering with XP. Just open
Roxio to copy photos. You select the option "Make data CD".

followed both your instructions. Deleted the thumbs.db file and ensured
that recording was enabled. Still the same thing happens. Pop up will come
up "Cannot complete wiriting wizard. There was an error in the writing
process". I even tried veiwing as a list and copying it that way...the
thumbs.db didn't come up to prompt me to copy. But it still didn't work
that way.

the only other program i have on the computer to copy to cd is sonic stage which is only for music. It's just a cd writing wizard, that automatically comes up. Not sure what else to do. I even tried placing the pictures back on to the memory stick copying back to the cd drive and burn from there.....but no luck with that. If I bought some sort of specific Cd creator program would this fix the problem??? Or is it even possible to change the setting on the CD writing wizard...which by the way it says it's copyrighted by Roxio. thanx for the help=).
