I've just noticed a an item named Thumbs.db in one of my FP2002 folders
which wasn't there a couple of days ago. I understand that the db stands for
database but I don't run a database. Any ideas? Fred

I think it's a system file used by XP to display a folder of pictures as
thumbnails.

It's a Windows system file. Basically, if you open a folder in Windows
Explorer (or any open/save dialog) that is set to view thumbnails this file
is generated. Essentially it is a system database of the thumbnails of all
the photos in a directory. If you delete it, you need to make sure that you
aren't in thumbnail view of the directory. Anytime you view the directory in
thumbnail view it will re-create this file though.

Hope this helps,

Windows explorer and My Computer create this file whenever you view files using the thumbnail view
Open explorer or my computer, FOLDER OPTIONS/VIEW/DO NOT CACHE THUMBNAILS and check it
Delete it from your local web, and the next time you publish, fp will ask you if you want to delete it from the web
Select yes.......NO MORE THUMBS.DB...........
