Thumbnails

What would make my thumbnails look blurry? I scan pictures and the full-size version can look crystal-clear, but when I turn them into thumbnails using the auto thumbnail button, the picture will look all blurry, and also when you go into Page Options>Auto Thumbnail, what is the best pixel setting and from which side (width, height, longest side, or shortest side) to set it at? I will be using both vertical and horizontal pictures.

Make your own thumbnails in your graphics program instead of letting
FrontPage create them. FP is not good at creating quality images.

I don't know what you're doing before making the thumbnails but here's an
article that might help you:
http://www.eleanorstravels.com/frontpage_images/index.htm... and some of the
other articles linked from that page.

the fact that you're reducing them to thumbnails makes them blurry - the way
frontpage re-scales the images etc - it is not an image editor, so do not expect
crystal clear thumbnails.

Be sure not to use FP to make thumbnails ....
It really is possible to make good thumbnails with the help of tweaking with
the unsharp mask properties in a program such as Paint shop Pro etc. And/or
take a look at the Batch Thumbs program from: http://www.harmware.com/
