I have been using this installation of XP for about 12mths. Recently
all image/graphic files are displayed as a small useless "Thumbnail"
Where it used to simply display the icon for the image viewer, how do
I stop the display of these little images?

I have checked views dropdown pane and are set to details not
thumbnail. Tried reinstalling the viewer but no change. I have not
installed any new progs likely to cause this change.

Sure it is a simple fix...but not to me! Thanks in advance.

Pete.

if you delete the thumbs.db file (it's hidden)
it will recreate itself ...hopefully correctly

Type or paste the following line into the Start | Run box and click OK...

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Generic icon is displayed for a picture file when in Thumbnail view
