Thumbnail View Not Sticking

As the title says, the thumbnail view is not sticking after I choose it for
a folder view. It immediately changes back to "Detail" view, like all of my
other folders, when I go to another folder and then back again or if I exit
explorer and then go back into explorer.

I have tried every trick, suggestion and registry hack that I could find on
the internet with no success. This is a new install of XP with SP2 and all
of the updates and patches.

Anybody know of a "surefire" cure?

See Windows Help and Support, look up Create new user, click the link,
follow the instructions.

Thanks for your help. I got the problem resolved by doing the following:

Open "My Computer"
Navigate to the folder(s) that you what to change the view on.
Select the view you want.
Close or make changes to other folders.
Close.

Now when you open windows explorer the view changes that you made above have
stuck.

based on what you said you have done, you may want to check the Box at

Folder Options, View, Remember each folder's view settings.
