Thumbnail images

Mike

I have a friend that deleted his picture files. I helped
him restore the files; but not until he had partially
overwritten them by means of writing other files. The
result was that about 30% of the pictures are only
partial images.

When I view the files with the Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer in the Filmstrip View, the thumbnail images of the
damaged picture file is 100% complete even though the
enlarged view is damaged or not displayable.

I would like to try and recover the damaged pictures by
saving the thumbnail image rather than the full size
image.

Is there a method for accessing just the thumbnail?

I have done searches on the image name and all I come up
with is the full size image; I cannot find the actual
thumbnail.

I and my friend would appreciate any suggestions on
solving this problem.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Hi Mike,

The way the Picture and Fax Viewer works is from where it is opened. Say
you have three .jpg's on your Desktop and open one of them in P&FV....if you
then use the Previous Image or Next Image, it will only contain the images
on your Desktop.

The same goes for wherever you are viewing the images from as a slide show.
For File Strip View they are the same images that are in Thumbnail View. To
save them all, left click the first one, scroll across to the last one, hold
down the shift key and left click once, copy - send to folder. But I don't
see how this is going to make a difference. Good luck!
