throughput meter or measure in IE 6

Looking for a way to measure throughput of my current DSL provider? Does IE
6 have any metering or functionality of this type? If not, how can I
measure? Do you know of any reputable online meter or freeware for this need?

Some ISPs, especially broadband ones, have speed test pages on their help
site. There are other web sites where you can test your throughput speeds.
Best to test with three of them to get an average as net traffic can be a
factor in said tests. Examples:
