To make sense you should quote the post, I believe most people who provide
answers use
newsreaders and since Excel forum is linking MS newsgroups it really is
helpful if the
posters quote the previous thread!

I'm completely unfamiliar with "ExcelForum", but one thing that I do notice
about many of their posters, is the inability to come back (here) the next
day and find their original post and/or the responses to them.

I use OutLook Express, which can be configured to "flag" my posts and all
responses to them, so that a week from now, after perhaps a thousand
messages have been posted, I can still easily find my post and it's
responses.

There must be a similar configuration availabe to you from ExcelForum, which
I suggest you learn from the outset.

There have been many messages posted here where the OP has stated,"Please
reply to my e-mail because I'll never find this again tomorrow."
And many times this causes them to "repost" the same or a similar question,
time after time, not realizing that they had already received numerous
helpful suggestions from the folks here, and all the effort being wasted,
strictly due to their inability to locate their OP.

Open OE,

do tools>accounts, click add>news, in the general tab news account put

give it a name then put whatever name and bogus email address

click server and put

msnews.microsoft.com

under server name, leave the rest blank
and click OK once and close. Now it will download
all different MS newsgroups, then select those that you
want to subscribe to.

thank you - I got OE set up btw, outlook 2003 doesn't have same setup as OE, and I prefer Outlook2003 so if you know how to set that one up..

You can't use Outlook as a newsreader, there is one add-in that can be
purchased
that I believe makes it work as a newsreader as well
