Threads expanded

Why at times when I open on of the options the threads are
all expanded?
Some times I get all (+) signs and other times all (-)
signs.

There is an expand all, which is a toggle, at the top of the frame, I
believe. In some browers, the individual thread toggles (+) are not
functional, and expand all is the only way to get the job done.

If I had had my head out of the keyboard I would have
saved us both some effort.

'Course at my age I'm entitled to several goofs a day but
seemed to have exceeded my quota for today.

The current HTML interface is not the best. Microsoft has a better one, and
it is possible that at some point in this beta we'll get to see it--there
were technical reasons why it wasn't possible to use it from the start.

If circumstances allow--generally, if you have broadband access, and use
these groups from a single machine regularly, access via NNTP can be much
easier--and allow searching the groups. Full instructions are in the top
right panel when you open the HTML interface via the link in Help, About.
You need to scroll down, and right down the username and password
requirements. In terms of software, all that is needed is Outlook Express.
