this spyware thing blocks my internet explorer

I downloaded the Microsoft Beta Spyware thing, and now my
internet explorer doesn't work. I know this beta is keeping
it from working, cause once I downloaded it, it stopped. I
had to download Mozilla Foxfire for a new browser, and I
want to go back to IE. I had the latest version of IE. I
get this error message:
"Runtime error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORER.EXE
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support
team for more information."

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

You just downloaded it, and that's all?
Did you install it after you downloaded it?
Did you run it after you installed it?

I'm a bit suspicious about this message, and I wonder what 3rd-party add-ons
you have inside Internet Explorer.

If you are running the Google toolbar, you might try uninstalling that.

If that takes care of the problem you should probably get a new download
from Google, presumably they'll have fixed this.

This error is generic--it can come from C++runtime or dotnet runtime, so the
cause isn't at all clear.
