This shouldn't work.... XP-98SE Network problems

E

OK,
We have 3 computers, 1 XP and 2 98SE. All three plug into a old
LinkSys Hub, which also hase a cable modem plugged into it. We need
Internetnet connectivity for each, as well as we need to have a
directory mapped on the XP system for a Database program. We replaced
an older (Win95 - worked fine on the network) system with the not
quite as old system with Win98SE - fresh install. XP ("System 0"and
(1)98SE ("system 2") see both the network and internet fine. Third
system (98SE)("system 3") can see a) Internet ONLY is set to auto IP &
DNS, or LAN ONLY with the settings I'll add in a sec.
I DON"T understand how the 1st 2 systems can see each other at
all....
NOTE: IP Address listed in XP and OLD Win98SE systems are CORRECT
(.162 VS .154)
